Health resort and tourist complex.
Seaside resorts of Krasnodar Krai occupy the leading positions in the sphere of tourism in Russian Federation. This is due to the combination of unique natural environment and cultural-historical values:
• Water areas of Black and Azov Seas (famous through all the country towns located on the shore – Sochi, Anapa, Gelendzhick, Tuapse, and also peninsula Taman);
• Foothill belts and mountains of Caucasus ( Goryachiy Kluch, Labinsk, Apsheronsk regions, Krasnaya Polyana)
• Spa
• Ancient monuments (excursions to dolmens, monuments of the past (open-air museum “Gorgippiya” in Anapa)
The development of Health resort and tourist complex.
Health-resort complex is one of the budget-making branches of economics of the region. In 2008 Krasnodar Krai hosted more than 16 mln. tourists. That surpassed the previous indicator on 14%.
In 2008 the amount of enterprises, operating in the branch, accounted for 1491 with the total amount of beds 308787, including:
• Health-resort organizations – 219 (106536 beds)
• Sanitary institutions for children – 146 (63825 beds)
• Pansionates – 123 (51404 beds)
• Hotels – 565 (35824 beds)
• Recreation centres, tourist camps, sport camps – 438 (51198 beds)
Health-resort branch has a high priority for such towns like Sochi, Anapa, Gelendzhick. Its development is supported by the government. Thus, it is planned to give 90 mln.rubles for the development of tourism in Sochi in 2009.
Types of tourism, developed in the region:
• Business ( high attractiveness of Krsnodar City for business enables business tourism to develop in Krasnodar Krai);
• Sightseeing (automobile- pedestrian, horse-riding excursions, sea excursions);
• Sport (diving, rock-climbing, fishing,riding a quad bike, rafting, hang-gliding);
• Speleotourism (excursions to caves);
• Taste tourism ( tasting Kuban wine);
• Ethnotourism (ethnopark “Dobrodeya”, open-air museum “Gorgippiya”);
• Beach ( various beaches are located on the distance of about 400 km from Taman peninsula to Adler);
• Health.
Children (more than 140 child health-resort organizations, among which a famous camp “Orlenok”)
 
 
Investments into tourism:
According to the results of 2008 the volume of investments into the seaside resorts of Krasnodar Krai accounted for 6.3 billion rubles.
The main aim of attracting investments into the branch is the creating of a portfolio of resorts for attracting wide layers of tourists and for providing tourist services all year round.
Priority orientations of investments into the branch:
• Development of a recreational structure;
• Sanatorium therapy;
• Medical services;
• Organization of recreation and tourism (ecological, recreational, business, sport, informative);
• Exploitation of peloid and mineral waters.
