External Economic Relations.
The geography of countries, that Krasnodar Krai collaborates with, is amazing . The countries-partners include:

• The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland;
• Germany;
• The Swiss Confederation;
• The Republic of South Africa;
• The United States of America;
• Turkey;
• France;
• Commonwealth of Independent States.
In 2008 external turnover of Krasnodar Krai accounted for 8533,9 mln. dollars USA. Including with the countries outside CIS - 7346,3 mln. dollars USA, with states-members of CIS - 1187,6 mln. dollars USA. Compared with 2007, the total amount of turnover increased by 1.7 times.
In the structure of external turnover with countries-partners, except for countries of CIS in 2008, as in the previous year, the volume of export exceeds the volume of import.
The volume of external turnover with the main countries-partners in 2008 accounted for 3639,5 mln. dollars USA.
The Administration of Krasnodar Krai pay special attention to the development of international and external ties of the region with the countries of European Community.
Partnership with Greece
There are 7 registtered enterprises with the foreign investments from Greece on the territory of Krasnodar Krai. Turnover of Krasnodar Krai with Greece accounted for 46,9 mln. dollars USA according to the results of 2008.
Export operations were carried out in the sum of 32,5 mln. dollars USA. The base of export constituted: oil and oil products, wheat and olives, wastes and ferrous scrap, mineral and chemical fertilizers, bagasse and other solid wastes,timber.
Import operations were carried out in the sum of 14,3 mln. dollars USA. The base of import constituted: iron sheet, fruit, cement, wine.
Partnership with Luxemburg
In 2008 an external turnover of Krasnodar Krai with Luxemburg accounted for 0, 5 mln. dollars USA. The volume of export accounted for 320,2 thousand dollars USA, import - 59,9 thousand dollars USA.
Partnership with Italy
The Italian Republic is a significant foreign economic partner of Krasnodar Krai. Sixteen enterprises with the investments from Italy successfully conduct its business and operations on the territory of Krasnodar Krai.
In 2008 an external turnover of Krasnodar Krai with Italy accounted for 564,9mln.dollars USA.
The total volume of export equals 418,2 mln.dollars USA. Compared with 2007, it remained almost on the same level. The base of the export constituted: oil and oil products, mineral and chemical fertilizers, food stock.
The volume of import accounted for 146,7 mln.dollars USA. Compared with 2007, it increased to 1,6 times. The main list of imported goods: cars and equipment, lease and tobacco.
Partnership with the Netherlands
In 2008 an external turnover of Krasnodar Krai with the Netherlands accounted for 124,4 mln. dollars USA. Net balance is positive (11, 9 mln. dollars USA).
Export operations were carried out in the sum of 68,2 mln. dollars USA. The base of the export constituted: oil and oil products, food stock and raw material for their production.
Interdisciplinarity with the Netherlands is conducted in such spheres as agricultural complex, healthcare.
Partnership with the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Great Britain is traditionally considered to be a significant foreign economic partner of Krasnodar Krai. Fourteen enterprises with 100% or partial English capital function in the region.
Relating to the turnover, its volume accounted for 64, 8 mln. dollars USA in 2008.
Import operations were carried out in the sum of 32,7 mln. dollars USA. The base of import constituted: food goods,mechanic products. Goods in the sum of 32, 1 mln. dollars USA were exported.
Partnership with Germany
Krasnodar Krai and Germany have close trade-economic ties. Germany has been one of the three largest foreign trade partners of the region for the last five years.
Twenty-nine enterprises with German investments are registered on the territory of Krasnodar Krai. The largest among them are:
• Public limited company “KNAUFF GYPSUM PSEBAI”
• Limited liability company “KLAAS” ( the manufacturer of technic for agriculture)
• Close joint stock company” Akerlund and Rausing Kuban” (the production of packing)
• Close joint stock company” Tetra Pack – Kuban”( intermediary services during purchase and sale of the production of production-technical use)
Compared with 2007, the turnover of Krasnodar Krai and Federal Republic of Germany increased nearly in 2 times and accounted for 302,2 mln. dollars USA. At this time, a share of import accounted for 290,3 mln. dollars USA, export - 11,9 mln. dollars USA.
Basically, vehicles and machinery for cleaning and thrashing of agricultural crops, internal-combustion engines, agricultural vehicles, industrial equipment, dishwashing mashines, steel constructions from ferrous materials, extractions, essences and concentrates of coffee, tea were imported.
The equipment for metalwork, timber were exported.
Partnership with the Swiss Confederation
One of the most significant results of cooperation of the region with Switzerland is the building of the factory of total cycle production of instant coffee«NESCAFÉ Classic» by the company “Nestle Kuban” in Timashevsk.
According to the three quarters of 2008, an external turnover of Krasnodar Krai with the Swiss Confederation accounted for 41,59 mln. dollars USA.
Import operations were carried out in the sum of 41,02 mln. dollars USA. The base of import constituted:
• Food goods (36,91 mln. dollars USA)
• Equipment (1,86 mln. dollars USA)
• Chemical production (0,30 mln. dollars USA)
The volumes of export operations for the given period of time accounted for 0,58 mln. dollars USA. Basically, timber constituted the base of export (10,7 thousand dollars USA)
Partnership with the Republic of South Africa
According to the three quarters of 2008, an external turnover of Krasnodar Krai with the Republic of South Africa accounted for 2083,8 thousand dollars USA. Export operations were carried out in the sum of 1121,5 thousand dollars USA, import operations - 962,3 thousand dollars USA. Grape wine constituted the base of import. Machine-tools were basically exported.
Partnership with the USA
Thirty-seven enterprises with the American capital are registered in Krasnodar Krai. The largest and most effective are:
• Public limited company” Philipp Morris-Kuban” (tobacco production)
• Limited liability company “Kargil-Yug” (trade of corn)
• Limited liability company” Sochinsky plant of soft frinks”
• “Pepsi-Cola” (serial output and realization of beverages)
The turnover of Krasnodar Krai with the USA accounted for 80,13 mln. dollars USA for 9 months in 2008.
Export operations were carried out in the sum of 4,78 mln. dollars USA. Basically, timber, food goods and raw materials were exported. Import operations were carried out in the sum of 75,36 mln. dollars USA. Extractions, essences and concentrates of coffee, tea, seeds of sunflower, agricultural and gardening machinery, vehicles and machinery for cleaning and thrashing agricultural crops, chemical products, tractors, mechanical devices were basically imported.
Partnership with Turkey
The most successful project, realized on the territory of Krasnodar Krai in collaboration with with Turkey, is the gas pipe “the Blue Stream” (Russia-Turkey)
The cost of the project is 32 billion dollars USA. The second line of the project was put into operation in September 2005.
The external turnover of Krasnodar Krai with Turkey accounted for 1,8 billion dollars USA in 2008. Export operations were carried out in the sum of 961,2 mln. dollars USA, import - 800,2 mln. dollars USA. Turkey is the largest trade partner in production supplying to the region. Food goods, raw materials, mineral products, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, chemical production constituted the base of import.
Partnership with France
Thirteen commercial organizations with foreign investments from France, among which “Bonduelle Kuban” and “Château le Grand Vostock”, are registered on the territory of Krasnodar Krai.
The external turnover of Krasnodar Krai with France accounted for about 379,4 mln. dollars USA in 2008. The volume of export accounted for 290,6 mln. dollars USA (increased to 1,7 times), import - 88,8 mln. dollars USA (7% less than in 2007)
Timber and cellulose and paper goods, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, oil and oil products, machinery basically formed the export.
Food products and raw materials for their production, chemical production, machinery formed the import.
