Development of the Industries.
Industrial complex of Krasnodar Krai occupies the leading position among the regions of The Southern Federal District.
Industrial complex of Krasnodar Krai consists of 850 large and medium-sized enterprises and more than 3,5 thousand of organizations.
More than 750 enterprises with the foreign investment are operating successfully in Krasnodar Krai. Enterprises are launched with foreign participants from more than 70 countries.
The share of manufacturing activity in the total amount of Gross Regional Product accounted for 12,2 % in 2008. In the first half of 2008 the volume of investments and profit doubled up in industrial complex, and the growth of production surpassed 38%.
The main branches of industry:
• Consumer goods industry
• Metallurgy industry and machinery-producing industry. More than 1200 enterprises are involved in the production of machines, equipment, transport means and metallurgy industry, and also subjects of micro-entrepreneurship with the total number of working people about 50 000. In 2007 there began the construction operations of two steel mill complexes in Abinsk and Armavir. Also the metallurgical plant with the productive capacity of 2.5 mln tones of steel in a year will be built in Armavir.
• Chemistry Complex. More than 800 large, medium-sized and small enterprises are involved in the production of plastic, rubber and glass goods. In 2008 the index accounted for 116%, the volume of discharged goods of own production – 10049 mln.rubles.
• Timber trade. More than 600 enterprises of logging and milling and furniture production form the branch. The volume of discharged goods of own production in 2008 – 2254 mln. rubles. The enterprises with 100% capital from Italy and Turkey are operating in timber processing complex of Krasnodar Krai now.
In 2007 Krasnodar Krai won the 1st place for the volume of timber trade in The Southern Federal District.
Investments into the industry.
In 2008 investments in the volume of 63 billion rubles went into the capital stock, that is 27 billion rubles more than in 2007.
The major investment flows were made into textile production, where the volume of investments increased to 5,7 times.
The volume of investments in the production of ceramic products increased to 4.7 times, in the production of electrical machines and electrical equipment to 1,7 correspondingly, in the production of cellulose, timber Mass, paper, carton and goods from them to 1,5 times.
